BTS' V is preparing to start his mandatory military service this December, leaving fans globally feeling low and heartbroken. According to numerous reports, the singer is set to enlist in the Special Duty Team, an anti-terrorism unit supervised directly under the Blue House.
Following the circulation of these reports, concerns arose among the BTS ARMY regarding the singer's well-being and safety. The 'Slow Dancing' singer went on a livestream with the remaining BTS members and reassured his fans about his choice, expressing his wish to challenge himself.
Addressing the concerns of his fans, V said, "There were articles coming about the unit I will be in enlisting in. ARMYs were worried, but honestly, I just wanted to challenge myself by going there and because I have goals. I am challenging myself but I also know how to deflect when needed. I shall return healthy and not get hurt. I’m a little bit scared of rappels, but just please trust me."
V will join the military with other BTS members - RM, Jimin, Jung Kook. Announcing the military enlistments of the members, BIGHIT MUSIC issued a statement. It read, "RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook will fulfill their required time with the military by enlisting in the army. RM and V will be enlisting according to their respective procedures, while Jimin and Jung Kook are scheduled to enlist together. Please note that there will be no official event on the day of their entry."
On the work front, V’s solo debut album ‘Layover’ topped charts soon after its release on September 8. He is also expected to feature in K-idol IU’s music video, which is set to release next year.
