Two of the biggest names in the Korean industry -- Cha Eun-woo and Kim Nam-joo -- are set to join forces for the upcoming drama 'Wonderful World.' MBC Network has provided updates on the broadcast schedule for this highly anticipated series.
On December 19, MBC revealed that filming and production for the upcoming drama is near its end and will wrap up shortly. Scheduled for airing in March 2024, with episodes releasing every Friday and Saturday, the show will also be accessible to view on Disney+.
Undoubtedly, Eun-woo is a fan favourite. So, it's no news that anticipation runs high among fans for this mystery series, especially as it marks the first-ever collaboration between these two superstars. The series will also mark the veteran actress Kim Nam-joo's comeback to the small screen after a hiatus of five years following her appearance in the JTBC drama 'Misty.'
But the stellar lead cast isn't the only reason why the hype is this much. It's also because it's being helmed by director Lee Seung-young, renowned for acclaimed series like 'Tracer Season 1' and 'Voice 2.' Adding to the anticipation, the script for this drama is crafted by writer Kim Ji-eun, recognized for her work on dramas such as 'Lies of Lies' and 'Cheongdamdong Scandal.'
Talking about the plot of the series, 'Wonderful World' is an emotional thriller revolving around Eun Soo-hyun (Kim Nam-joo), a successful psychology professor, driven by revenge after the tragic loss of her son. Determined to find the perpetrator and seek justice for her child, she takes matters into her own hands after the culprit manages to escape the law's punishment. On the other hand, ASTRO's Cha Eun-woo portrays a character whose life takes a difficult turn after he drops out of medical school. His path crosses with that of Eun Soo-hyun's, but little does she know that he has a hidden dark secret behind his seemingly gentle and kind face.
In supporting roles, we have Kim Kang-woo who plays Kang Soo-ho, a successful news anchor and Eun Soo-hyun’s husband whose life goes for a toss after the loss of their son. And, Im Se-mi portrays Han Yoo-ri, the owner of a select shop who is like a sister-figure to Eun Soo-hyun.
