Actress Chahatt Khanna is all set to return to the big screens with 'Yaatris' that is releasing in theatres on October 6. The film is directed by Harish Vyas and stars Raghubir Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Jamie Lever and Anuraag Malhan along with Chahatt.
Chahatt was last seen in the 2019 film 'Prassthanam' and she is making a comeback after a hiatus of four years. Outlook India recently had a conversation with the actress where she spoke about the film, her character, her working experience with the cast and a lot more.
As she is making a comeback, Chahatt feels like she is back home after a long vacation. Asked why she said yes to 'Yaatris', she said, "I said yes because any actor would have said yes. It's a beautiful script and when it was narrated to me, I was like, 'I should do it'. I love to watch such kind of genre. It's my genre and rom-coms, feel-good, light-hearted films are what I love to watch. So, when I got the offer to be part of such a film, I couldn't say no."
She added, "It was not that I was waiting to do something like this. The offer came to me and the story was narrated and I loved the script and I was like 'I should definitely do this' but the kind of work satisfaction I got after shooting and at the time of shoot was very different. We were left in front of the cameras by our director and it was so natural. He was like 'do what you feel like'. It was so natural, flawless and effortless."
While shooting the film, if she had discovered anything about herself, she shared, "I didn't discover anything about myself because I have already discovered many things in life. I have discovered something about family, and relationships and all the characters in the film are real-life characters. In fact, me and my sister are like these characters in the film. So, I was like I didn't feel like shooting. It was like we were in a situation and we were shooting it. So, it was very relatable. The characters in the film are in my house and in other households as well".
Chahatt was all praise for Raghubir Yadav. She called him a 'humble' and 'down to earth' person.
"I watched Raghubir Yadav's Panchayat and it's my favourite. I like that kind of genre. After watching Panchayat I felt like it was too good. I have seen him in other projects also but Panchayat is fresh in my mind. When I got to know it was him I was looking forward to meet and work with him and he is such a nice person. He is so humble and down to earth that we were talking to him till late at night after pack up. He used to sing and there were jamming sessions. It was like a family kind of feeling when he was around.’’
When asked if she missed the limelight all these years, Chahatt laughed and said, "I am always in the limelight either for good or bad. My name always comes first when there is anything. Yes, as an actor I missed the limelight very much. I missed working on set, the coffee. The satisfaction I got doing this film I never got in any project. I don't know how the film will come out but as a person I really enjoyed it."
