Recently, Netflix’s new four-part documentary series, 'Beckham' released. The documentary is about the football star, David Beckham. In it, David opened up about some of the most controversial moments in his career including his rumoured relationship with former model Rebecca Loos.
In the last episode of the series, David and his wife spoke about what happened after Loos made her claims, and Beckham said that he would prefer to keep some things private.
For the unversed, David and his wife Victoria Beckham got embroiled in a controversy when David's personal assistant Rebecca Loos claimed to have had a four-month affair with the football legend in 2004.
Rebecca has now reacted to how Beckham and his wife addressed the situation in the docu-series. In an interview with Daily Mail, Loos said, “It’s all, ‘Poor me’. He needs to take responsibility. He can say whatever he likes of course and I understand he has an image to preserve, but he is portraying himself as the victim and he’s making me look like a liar, like I’ve made up these stories. Yes, the stories were horrible, but they’re true.”
She also said that their alleged relationship started, and she foolishly fell for David’s lies. “He singled me out, made me feel special,'' she added.
In his documentary, David said that it was the first time he and Victoria experienced such kind of pressure in their marriage. Rebecca said, “I think it’s one thing to keep your private life to yourself. It’s another thing to mislead the public. And so many people had forgotten about all of this. And he’s dragged it back up again in a way that is affecting my reputation. The worse bit for me is that he says he didn’t like seeing his wife suffer. That bothered me. Because he’s the one that’s caused the suffering”.
Victoria said in the series, “It was the hardest period for us because it felt like the world was against us. And here’s the thing, we were against each other if I’m being completely honest. Up until Madrid, sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other. But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either. And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was. And how it affected me.”
Rebecca is married to Dr Sven Christjar Skaiaa, and they have two sons, Magnus and Liam.
