Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, after years of dating, tied the knot in November 2018. Now, in an interview with Time magazine, of which she is on the cover, Deepika talked about her equation with actor husband Ranveer. She said that to love, there is a lot to learn too.
Talking about her marriage with Ranveer, Deepika said much like everyone else, the main ingredient for a successful relationship is “patience”, and how with Ranveer, she is her “most vulnerable self.”
“We either grow up being influenced by the movies or the relationships and marriages around us. The sooner you accept that the journey two people are going to be on is going to be very different from someone else’s journey, the better it is. Having said that, not just with my parents but I think with that entire generation…” Deepika said.
She added, “Patience is probably one of the main things that I feel like couples do today–I sound like some love guru but–lack. That’s something we can all learn from, not just Ranveer and I from our parents, but all of us from the generation before. Lots of other things, but patience being the main thing.”
The actress also opened up about the times when a female actor’s career would end as soon as they get married or become mothers, but that’s not how it is anymore. “I’ve never had that experience because (Ranveer) has always put me, my dreams, and my ambitions first.”
The two have featured in several movies together, like ‘Ram Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’.
