It was a big day for India at the Oscars 2023 as two Indian productions–’RRR’ and ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ bagged the much-coveted golden trophies. While RRR's song ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Best Original Song, Guneet Monga's ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ bagged the award in the Best Documentary Short category.
After that, the celebs headed to the Oscars after party. And guess what? Actor, comedian, and producer Mindy Kaling posed for selfies with India celebs Deepika Padukone, Ram Charan, who was with his wife Upasana, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Mindy shared the pictures, which also featured Simone Ashley and Naomi Scott.
In the first photo, Mindy Kaling clicked a selfie as they twinned in black. The next picture, clicked by Ram Charan, featured Upasana and Mindy. All of them smiled for the camera. In the last photo, Mindy is seen with Maitreyi, Simone, and Naomi as they all smiled and gave different poses. Mindy captioned the post, "Could not be more starstruck by these Brown Beauties."
Sharing Mindy's post on her Instagram Stories, Upasana commented, "@mindykaling ur a true inspiration to soooo many women out there. More power to you (hug face and red heart emojis)."
Deepika made her debut at the Oscars this year as she graced the role of a presenter on the Oscar stage. She introduced the ‘Naatu Naatu’ singers on the stage before their performance as the song competed against ‘Applause’ (sung by Sofia Carson) from ‘Tell It Like a Woman’, ‘Hold My Hand’ (Lady Gaga) from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘Lift Me Up’ (Rihanna) from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and ‘This Is a Life’ (Son Lux, Mitski, David Byrne) from ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.
