After author Yashica Dutt, now designer Tarun Tahiliani has slammed the makers of 'Made In Heaven 2' for using his designs in one of the episodes of the show and not giving him credit. He has blasted the makers in a series of Instagram Stories. In his post, the renowned designer said his designs were falsely represented by a fictitious designer in Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti's show.
In an episode of 'Made In Heaven 2', Mrunal Thakur, who played a bride was seen wearing Tarun's designed outfits but in the show, a fictitious designer named Akshay Jaiswal (Kashyap Harsha Shangari) was shown.
This has disappointed him and on Thursday, Tarun shared a picture of Mrunal dressed in his bridal outfit and wrote on Instagram Stories, “It is most unfortunate when a popular OTT series violates the understanding behind the provision of clothing in the first place! Case in point: Significant portions of the second episode of Made in Heaven, were styled using clothes provided by the Tarun Tahiliani studio in good faith to the stylist."
He also shared another scene from the episode and wrote, “Unfortunately, a fictitious designer (actor) representing a fictitious label presented our garments! This is a shocking breach of faith. If this is what the production house intended, they should have engaged a costume designer, had costumes designed, and proceeded as they saw fit."
Tarun shared another picture of Mrunal in a lehenga designed by him and wrote, “Let's hope the scenario does not repeat itself with other designers, who have graciously lent their work for OTT productions. Furthermore, it is our hope that such actions will never be considered acceptable in the future''.
The makers of 'Made In Heaven 2' are yet to respond to the allegations.
