'Fighter' starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, is all set to hit theatres on Thursday, January 25. The film revolves around a group of Indian Air Force officers who are ready to give their all to the country. 'Fighter' is likely to take a stellar opening at the Indian box office.
It is likely to collect anywhere between Rs 30 crore plus on its opening day, as per producer and film business expert, Girish Johar. ''As of now, I feel that Fighter should definitely open to Rs 30 crore plus or maybe less,'' he added.
Film exhibitor, Akshaye Rathi called 'Fighter' a true blue mass entertainer that caters to the length and breadth of the country, multiplexes, single screens and Tier 1, 2 and 3.
While predicting the Day 1 box office collection of 'Fighter, Rathi shared, ''I feel it will earn Rs 35 crore minimum. It could earn Rs 38 crore or Rs 40-42 crore. Let's see''.
He added, ''Republic Day is on January 26. So, I am sure that if word-of-mouth is good, there is a good chance that we will see Rs 50 crore happening' on Republic Day''.
Talking about 'Fighter' advance booking, the film has earned Rs 3.66 crore so far from its advance bookings for day 1, as per a report in Sacnilk. The same portal also reported that a total of 1,13,110 tickets have been sold for Day 1 across the country. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Delhi have witnessed the maximum number of advance bookings in all formats.
The Siddharth Anand directorial has also recorded great numbers in advance bookings in the US and Canada. It has already crossed $300K and is likely to surpass Hrithik's previous records which were set by films like 'War' and 'Vikram Vedha'.
The action thriller also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi and Sharib Hashmi among others. It is backed by Viacom18 Studios in collaboration with Marflix Pictures.
