‘Guntur Kaaram’ Box Office Collection Day 5: Mahesh Babu’s Joins Rs 150 Crore Club Worldwide

Mahesh Babu's latest actioner is also moving closer to the Rs 100 crore club domestically.

Actor Mahesh Babu’s latest Tamil actioner ‘Guntur Kaaram’ was one of the most awaited films of this year. Now at the box office, the film is benefiting from the Pongal holiday period and continues to maintain a decent hold at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film netted Rs 11.50 cr at the box office on Tuesday.

The film, which released on January 12, certainly witnessed its lowest numbers since it hit cinema halls, but domestically, the film is moving closer to the Rs 100 crore mark domestically. The collection of ‘Guntur Kaaram’ currently stands at Rs 94.50 crore. The film’s worldwide total is in the range of Rs 160 crore, which means it has already crossed the Rs 150 crore mark.

As the four-day Pongal holidays in Tamil Nadu end, the film will enter its second weekend, and the collections of the coming days would determine its estimated lifetime collection. According to Sacnilk, the actor’s 2020 release ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ had collected Rs 221 crore while his last release ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ had minted Rs 188 crore globally.

‘Guntur Kaaram’ opened in cinema to a packed calendar, which included Dhanush’s Tamil film ‘Captain Miller’, Sivakarthikeyan and Rakul Preet Singh’s Tamil film ‘Ayalaan’, Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Merry Christmas’ and the sci-fi fantasy Telugu release ‘HanuMan’ which has emerged the clear winner at the box office. Clearly, ‘HanuMan’ is also the only pan-India release of the lot, and has made the most money. 

Directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by S Radha Krishna under the banner of Haarika & Hassine Creations, ‘Guntur Kaaram’ also stars also features Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishna, and Jayaram in key roles. The film’s music was composed by Thaman S, with cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and PS Vinod.
