Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter, who started his career with ‘Beyond The Clouds’ , is all set to make his Hollywood debut opposite Nicole Kidman in ‘The Perfect Couple’ and recently said that he did not pick the project and rather auditioned for it. ‘The Perfect Couple' is an official adaptation of writer Elin Hilderbrand’s eponymous novel by the same name.
The film also stars Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning and Live Schreiber and talking about the opportunity, Ishaan Khatter told a news portal, “I’m grateful for the opportunity and excited to explore whatever good work comes my way. It’s certainly a unique time for artistic and cultural cross-pollination with the world becoming a smaller place and I’m excited for people to see what’s to come.”
Talking about how he landed the project, Ishaan said, “It was certainly not up for picking! I went through the whole process and auditioned for it. I also don’t think there’s enough information out there to label it as conventional or otherwise yet.”
‘The Perfect Couple’ revolves around the story of a mother, played by Nicole Kidman who is planning a wedding for her son but preparations come to a halt because of a murder. Ishaan Khatter will be seen in the role of the groom’s best friend.
On the work front, Ishaan Khatter was last seen in the film, ‘Phone Bhoot’ along with Katrina Kaif and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
Next up, the actor will be seen in the film, ‘Pippa’ along with Mrunal Thakur. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, ‘Pippa’ is based on the Battle of Garibpur, set in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. As per latest new around the film, it was to release on OTT because of a tiff between the producers and multiplex owners. Later, the producers refuted the claims about the non-theatrical release.
In the film, Ishaan will portray the role of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta, a veteran of the 45th cavalry tank squadron, who fought on the eastern front during the war in 1971. The film also features ‘Mirzapur 2’ fame Priyanshu Painyuli and Alia Bhatt’s mother and actress Soni Razdan.
