In a candid and revealing moment captured in a video titled ‘MMM (Mini & Moni Music) – RM’, released on BTS’s official YouTube channel on May 25, RM - the group's leader, opened up to fellow member Jimin. Shedding the facade of confidence and poise typically associated with his role, RM confessed to the immense pressure he felt as the leader of BTS during their conversation on Bangtan TV’s YouTube channel.
The BTS leader talked about the difficulties he faced concerning his military enlistment during their conversation on Bangtan TV’s YouTube channel. RM said, “We suffered for a long time, especially with all the talk about military service. I even overheard people talking about it in a bar, not knowing I was right next to them. At that time, I was dealing with a lot of personal issues and incidents, and I struggled to figure out what to do. So, I decided to leave these thoughts behind and move forward.”
Kbizoom quoted the rapper saying, “In our team, I’m the one who says all the right things, the nice things. I step up to represent the team. That’s what I always do. But I’m actually just an unimportant 29-year-old guy living in Korea. I’m just a 29-year-old living a slightly different life from others.”
RM continued, “But for the past ten years, we felt this burden. We just had to be conscientious and different. If I kept caring about what everyone else thought… If I kept going like this, I just… I felt like I would want to die.”
RM explained that these emotions inspired the creation of his new solo album. He mentioned that his album, ‘Right Place, Wrong Person,’ is deeply personal and reflective of his own stories and experiences. Although he cherishes BTS and their music, he confessed to frequently worrying about others’ opinions, which made him feel constrained. Creating this album allowed him to express his truth and liberate himself from these concerns.
‘Right Place, Wrong Person’ was released on May 24. The album has already started topping the charts.
