Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has been devastated by the death of composer Ilaiyaraaja's daughter, Bhavatharini. The playback singer passed away on January 25 at a hospital in Sri Lanka.

Offering condolences on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Kamal Haasan mentioned that his heart ached, and that he doesn't know how to console his brother Ilaiyaraaja. According to reports, preparations to bring Bhavatharini's body to Chennai are currently underway.

On January 26, Kamal Haasan took to X, and his tweet in Tamil is loosely translated as, "My heart aches. I don't know how to console my beloved brother Ilaiyaraaja. I will hold his hands through this. Bhavatharini's death cannot be tolerated or accepted. Ilaiyaraaja shouldn't give up dealing with this huge loss. My heartfelt condolences to Bhavatharini's family."

Reportedly, playback singer and composer Bhavatharini was suffering from Stage four liver cancer for the past couple of months, and she apparently went to Sri Lanka for Ayurveda treatment.

The National-award winning singer passed away on January 25 in Sri Lanka. She was 47 years old. She is survived by her husband, father Ilaiyaraaja, and brothers, Karthik Raja and Yuvan Shankar Raja. Reportedly, it was only a couple of months ago that she was diagnosed with Stage four liver cancer, and she has been receiving treatment for the same. She was taken to Sri Lanka to receive Ayurveda treatment, but died at the hospital itself.

According to sources close to the matter, her body is likely to be brought back to Chennai at around 6 pm on January 26.
