Kareena Kapoor Khan is a bonafide star, she’s both a great actress and good looking. However, not just for the audience, but for her too, the meaning of stardom is now changing. Kareena Kapoor too believes that if an actor is talented and can connect with the audience through their performance, ‘stardom will follow’.

During an interview with Film Companion, Kareena mentioned how being a good actor and a big star now go like ‘hand in glove’. She said, “If you are great, talented, and people have liked you, connected with you, stardom will follow. It is not like, ‘Oh he has got six-pack abs, he is looking so hot, he is a big star.’ Arree please yaar! Sometimes, I feel like telling those actors, ‘Please wear your T-shirt first. I can’t even look at you.'”

She further mentioned how times have changed since when her grandfather Raj Kapoor, uncle Rishi Kapoor and father Randhir Kapoor were part of the industry.

“Now, if you are a good actor, you are going to survive a long time,” Kareena said, when questioned about her past remark when she said actors have become better after her cousin, Ranbir Kapoor.

While she called Ranbir Kapoor a ‘phenomenal actor,’ she also cited an example of Bobby Deol, who was also a part of the interview. “Now Bobby is doing different characters. Now he is exploring his talent, which he always had and now finally he's getting this opportunity. You can't shut out a good actor,” Kareena said.

Meanwhile, the actress also shared how several people questioned her decision to do ‘Jaane Jaan’, director Sujoy Ghosh’s crime thriller on Netflix. In the film, she played the role of a single mother, Maya.

“Someone who saw Jaane Jaan was like, ‘Arre why did you do such a dark film?’ People have come up to me and said, ‘We are used to seeing you…’ They want that. I am just like, ‘I don’t even want to talk to you. Why did you even watch it?’ They just believe that this is her image. They have built this image about me that she has to do certain kinds of roles,” Kareena shared.

She will next be seen in the role of a detective in Hansal Mehta’s ‘The Buckingham Murders’, also starring Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen, apart from starring in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’.
