The 29th Kolkata International Film Festival 2023 kickstarted on December 5 in Kolkata. Actor Salman Khan was one of the chief guests at the opening ceremony. Also, Mahesh Bhatt, Shatrughan Sinha, Anil Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and former cricketer Saurav Ganguly were part of the event. Salman was in an all-black look and he looked dapper as always. He was felicitated by Bengali actor Dev Adhikari.
An inside video from the ceremony has been doing the rounds on social media where Salman and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee are setting the stage on fire with their dance moves. Anil Kapoor, Mahesh Bhatt, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha and others also joined them. Salman and his 'Dabangg' co-star Sonakshi were seen doing their signature dance step from the film. Everyone present at the ceremony cheered for them. At the opening ceremony, Mamata Banerjee also crooned a popular song of Rabindranath Tagore's 'Banglar Mati, Banglar Jol'.
The 'Tiger 3' actor took to his Instagram handle to give a sneak peek into the ceremony. He shared a reel on his Instagram Stories where CM Mamata Banerjee was seen giving him a grand welcome as he entered the gate of the event. Salman also shared a picture where he was seen seated next to the CM of West Bengal.
Talking about KIFF, 2023, this year's edition will have screenings of 219 films from 39 countries across 23 venues in the City of Joy. Out of which, 72 are feature films, and 50 are short films and documentaries.
Coming back to Salman Khan, his last release was 'Tiger 3' also co-starring Katrina Kaif. The movie released on the occasion of Diwali.
