Kriti Sanon is currently one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry. Making her debut with 'Heropanti', and then giving some stellar performances in films like 'Bareilly Ki Barfi', 'Luka Chuppi', 'Raabta', 'Mimi' and 'Bhediya' among others, Kriti has come a long way in her career. Recently, she added another feather to her cap as she was honoured with the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in 'Mimi' where she played a surrogate mother.
In an interview, Kriti shared her journey in the industry coming from a middle-class family. She said that it was not difficult for her to convince her parents to get into showbiz. Their only condition was that she had to have a Plan B. Kriti told Curly Tales, “It didn’t require a lot of convincing but I had to give them a backup plan. I had to take the GMAT exam and get a good score.”
She added, ''I just moved to Mumbai and I was going for these GMAT preparation classes while I was trying for movies and doing modelling. I got my first Telugu film (Mahesh Babu’s 1: Nenokkadine) and I also got Heropanti. Heropanti was supposed to start a little later and my second schedule of the Telugu was supposed to start after two months. So, I had two months in the middle and I took the GMAT exam then''.
Before acting Kriti did modelling and her experience was not pleasant at her first fashion show. She was scolded by her choreographer in front of 50 other models.
Narrating further about the incident, the actress said, “My first ramp show, the choreographer, I have never worked with her again, she was very rude to me because I messed up the choreography. It was at some farmhouse and heels were getting stuck into the grass and it was my first time. Terrible. I started crying because she was scolding me in front of 50 models and very rudely. I was holding it for long but I cry the moment someone shouts at me.”
On the work front, she will be seen in 'Ganapath', with Tiger Shroff. She also has a romantic film with Shahid Kapoor. Also, Kriti has turned producer and she has started shooting for her maiden production, 'Do Patti'. Sanon also has 'The Crew' with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu.
