Hollywood superstars Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, along with ‘Scary Movie’ actress Regina Hall, will feature in the acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson's next project. The film will be produced by Warner Bros, according to a report by Deadline.
Although the movie is yet to be titled and any description of it has still been kept under wraps, it has been touted as Anderson's most expensive project to date, about $100 million. There are rumours that the project will be commercially focused and set in a modern setting. The film will kick off its production this month, with California as the primary set location.
Paul Thomas Anderson has penned down the script of the film and will also be producing it alongside Sara Murphy and Adam Somner, who have previously worked with him on 'Licorice Pizza.' Apart from its leading cast, makers are in the process of finalising the supporting cast.
Being helmed as one of the best directors of this century, he has several highly-praised films under his veil, including 'Boogie Nights,' 'Phantom Thread,' and 'The Master to Magnolia.' His last project was the 2021 film 'Licorice Pizza,' which bagged three Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay.
Meanwhile, this marks the first-ever collaboration between Leonardo DiCaprio and Paul Thomas Anderson, who were set to work in 'Boogie Nights' earlier but that did not happen because DiCaprio chose to work in James Cameron's 'Titanic.' However, Sean Penn starred in 'Licorice Pizza' in a supporting role.
