Manu Rishi is not only a great actor but also a prolific writer. Very few of you might know that Manu wrote dialogues for award-winning movies like 'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye', 'Aisha' and many others. He bagged the Filmfare Best Dialogue Award, for Abhay Deol starrer 'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye'.

In an interview with Outlook, the veteran actor revealed that he is currently writing something for some great actors and he expressed his desire to work with Manoj Bajpayee

When he was asked why he doesn't write much nowadays, Manu Rishi said that he has started the process now and added, "Sometimes what happens is that we write for others and become professional writers. I feel that now I have become an emotional writer. I want to tell stories that I observe, and that are in my thoughts and memories. I am currently writing and will bring films with good scripts and this is my promise to you and the audience".

He further said, "I want to write and direct and I came in the industry to do these. I didn't come here to be typecast. I wanted to take a break from acting and direct films. I have written a good film for good people after a long time. It will be presented with great actors very soon. The process will start this year. I have a few scripts and I will pitch them. Many feel that one is for OTT and one for the big screen. I am in a process that I believe in and stay in it always."

He also expressed his desire to direct Manoj Bajpayee. "I want to work with Manoj Bajpayee and currently writing something for him. I want to approach him. He is one of my favourite actors, said the 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' actor.

The 'U-Turn' actor also remembered late actor Irrfan Khan as he said, "I had lots of love for him and he liked my world of stories. He was producing his first film which was a remake of a Bangladeshi film and I was adapting it. But, he wasn't well and passed away."

Manu Rishi also wants to work with Dimple Kapadia, Tabu and Maanvi Gagroo.
