Everyone in the fashion and entertainment world waits every year for the first Monday in May. Well, why not? That’s when the Met Gala takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year, the 2023 Met Gala celebrates the exhibition “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” with an aim to honour the legacy of Lagerfeld—the late designer, and also to raise funds for The Met’s Costume Institute.
While the exhibition is important, its star-studded red carpet spectacle as the guests walk up the famous Met steps is always a sight to behold. Nonetheless, the Met Gala is known to create the most memorable (and viral) celebrity red carpet looks. The 2023 Met Gala guests were asked to dress “in honour of Karl”, with co-hosts Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour present at the event.
