Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub is one such actor who has always left a long-lasting impact on the audience with his stellar performances. Zeeshan started off his career in the Hindi film industry by playing a negative role in 'No One Killed Jessica' (2011). Later, in most of his films, he played the second fiddle, the ‘hero's friend’. His roles were mostly comical.
As the 39-year-old actor was getting typecast as the 'hero's friend', he started trying out interesting roles. Zeeshan bagged Anubhav Sinha's 'Article 15' (2019) where he donned a never-seen-before avatar. Post that he never looked back and started getting different characters. Now, Zeeshan is either seen in a serious role or playing a righteous guy. The actor told Outlook India that now a 'new kind of typecasting' is happening with him and he will break it soon.
Ayyub's latest outing was Akshat Ajay Sharma's 'Haddi' where he was seen playing the spouse of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's transgender character. He has been raved for his performance in the film.
Asked if filmmakers are taking him seriously now by offering him more solid roles, to which the actor laughed and said, "I think they are. It is because of the kind of characters that I am getting for sure but yes, now I am bored of playing the serious and righteous guy honestly. Serious actor it doesn't mean I still can't do comedy. I would love to play a comedy character again.''
The 'Scoop' actor also expressed his desire to play a villain. He said, ''I would love to be a traditional villain like in the 70s or 80s. I would love to play that kind of character and at the same time, I would love to play a grey character.''
''So, yeah, it's a new kind of typecasting that is happening but I will break this one also. I did it in the past and hope to do it again,'' added Zeeshan.
