Take a look at the trailer of ‘Monkey Man’ here.
The trailer for ‘Monkey Man’ looks promising. While it is not exactly shown how Dev Patel’s mother was murdered, the man behind her murder is shown in his true avatar. The shots that depict the antagonist make you despise him because you can see how he abuses his power to systemically oppress the weak. Coming to Sobhita’s role, it looks like she still has not gotten out of her ‘Made In Heaven’ character. She features in a few scenes, but it’s too soon to judge her performance. The trailer makes it fairly evident that the movie belongs to Dev Patel.
Coming to the cinematography, the job is well executed. There are some stereotypical shots but when you look at where Dev’s character comes from, it looks fair. The music is borderline cliché. The trailer has a remix version of Punjabi MC’s hit song – no points for guessing which one it is. The only thing that will keep you hooked is the story. It exudes a ‘John Wick’ meets ‘The Karate Kid’ vibe.
The story, screenplay, and direction have been helmed by Dev Patel. ‘Monkey Man’ is set to release on April 5.
