Actress Nayanthara’s Tamil film ‘Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food’ released on December 1. In the film, Nayanthara is shown to hail from an orthodox, upper caste household. Featuring Nayanthara and Jai in the lead role, the film is currently streaming on Netflix. It was helmed by debutant Nilesh Krishnaa.

The man, Ramesh Solanki, shared a statement on X and mentioned how he has also filed a police complaint asserting that the movie 'promoted Love Jihad'. He claimed that 'Annapoorani' has offended 'Hindu sentiments'. The FIR has been filed against Nayanthara, Jai, Nilesh and producers Jatin Sethi, R Ravindran and Punit Goenka, Zee Studios Chief Business Officer Shariq Patel and the head of Netflix India, Monika Shergill.
