Actor Natalie Portman and husband-choreographer Benjamin Millepied have reportedly separated after 11 years of marriage. As per Us, it was because of the alleged affair of Benjamin with climate activist Camille Etienne. The speculation of their separation started on their 11th wedding anniversary (that was on August 4), when Natalie was seen without her wedding ring during an event in Australia.
Us quoted an insider as saying, “After news of his affair came out, they’ve been trying to work on their marriage but are currently on the outs.” The rumours of Benjamin's affair started in June as per the report.
In June, an insider had told the portal that Natalie believed 'Benjamin’s affair was a brief and stupid liaison that means nothing to him' and she was ‘willing to see if she’s capable of rebuilding her trust’ in him to make sure that their kids don’t 'grow up in a broken home'. Another source told the same portal that they were 'talking and working on it together for the sake of their children' and Benjamin has also regretted his actions.
In the same month, People quoting a source on Benjamin's affair had said, "It was short-lived and it is over… He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together. Natalie is incredibly private and has no intention of playing this out in the media. Her biggest priority is protecting her children and their privacy."
Talking about Natalie and Benjamin's relationship, they met in 2009 while working on 'Black Swan'. They have two children- son Aleph who is 12 years old and a 6-year-old daughter Amalia.
On the work front, Natalie will be seen in 'May December' that will stream on Netflix.
