K-POP rookie group NewJeans is basking in their international success with a string of achievements. Set to grace the stage at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Rita Ora, this five-member group comprising Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein made their debut in July 2022 with 'Attention.' Since then, they have released multiple hits like 'Hype Boy' and 'Ditto' which topped many charts, not only in Korea, but also internationally.
The New Year's Rockin' Eve is scheduled to take place on December 31 at 8 pm ET which is January 1, 1:30 am IST. Their performance would be broadcasted on American TV network ABC. NewJeans would be performing live from South Korea which would be aired on the show. This will be the first time a K-pop girl group will be performing at the Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Previous Korean artists include Psy, BTS, j-hope and Tomorrow x Together.
ABC and Dick Clark Productions announced the impressive lineup for the performance night on December 13. The live webcast of the festival will showcase stellar performances from Post Malone, NewJeans, and Ivy Queen, each performing from various locations worldwide. Alongside these standout performances, the night will feature artists such as Green Day, Reneé Rapp, Doechii, Aqua, and others.
Breaking records and barriers, NewJeans made history at the Mnet Asia Music Awards by taking home two prestigious awards: Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. Remarkably, they became the first girl group in almost 12 years to claim the title of Artist of the Year.
NewJeans also had their debut US award show performance on November 19 at the Billboard Music Awards 2023. They were also nominated for various categories which are Top Global K-Pop Artist, Top K-Pop Album, and Top Global K-Pop Song, out of which they won the award for Top Global K-Pop Artist.
