Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has turned a year older today, on January 6. On his special day, his 'Chamkila' co-star Parineeti Chopra wished him on social media. On Dosanjh's 40th birthday, Parineeti shared a fresh still from their upcoming film, directed by Imtiaz Ali. In the picture, Parineeti and Diljit can be seen dressed as their characters, Diljit Dosanjh essays the titular role of late Amar Singh Chamkila and Parineeti plays late Punjabi folk singer Amarjot Kaur.
Sharing the pic on her Instagram handle, Parineeti wrote, "Mera yaara, mera pyaara, mera Chamkila!Happpy bday ji .. Wish you happiness and good health forever.'' She added, ''I miss us singing together! And I cannot wait to show the world what we have created in Chamkila. The MUSIC, the magic."
Mouni Roy, who is also part of the film wished Diljit. She will feature in a song in 'Chamkila'. Mouni shared pics from the song, and wrote, "This very special song is out now on a special day. Happiest of birthdays diljitdosanjh may you continue conquering the world with your talent & winning the hearts of everyone you cross paths with your warmth. Love ya x."
It was earlier last year, Imtiaz Ali announced the biopic on the late singer Amar Singh Chamkila. For the unversed, Amar Singh Chamkila was Punjab's highest record-selling artist of his time. He was killed in 1988 at the age of 27.
'Chamkila's music has been composed by AR Rahman. The film will release in 2024 on Netflix.
