Actress Pooja Gor has made her debut in the captivating realm of the audio series in collaboration with Pocket PM. She joined the bandwagon of actors who have embraced this medium. Pooja has turned the narrator of the most popular audio series on Pocket FM - 'Insta Millionaire', 'Devil Se Shaadi', 'Secret Ameerzada' and 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To'.
In an interview with Outlook India, Pooja opened up about her experience in the audio medium, working in different mediums and a lot more. Here are the excerpts from the interview:
Tell us about your experience with the audio series.
It's my first association with Pocket FM and I thoroughly enjoyed narrating the promos of the four stories which have been very well received not just in our country but outside as well. It was quite an amazing experience having shot for it.
What's the difference between hosting shows for audio-video medium and only for audio platform? Are there any challenges?
This is an audio OTT platform where you listen to audio series and audio shoots as opposed to other audio-visual mediums. Here every episode is audio only and it's a long format. You can listen to them according to your own mood, taste and genre that you like at the liberty of your time. That's actually the biggest difference where you don't have to be sitting in front of something and dedicate that time to a particular medium.
This is new for me and I love doing new things. It's fresh for me and I love new challenges. I didn't face any difficulty. I enjoyed giving it a try.
Audio series is something new. How do you see the future of such platforms?
The future is very big for everyone who is associated with the entertainment sector because the platforms and the avenues are kind of growing at a faster speed than ever. With the advent of writers, directors, actors and platforms, people are experimenting with a lot of new ideas and creating new stories, telling stories that generally you would not be able to.
OTT has opened avenues for all. Do you also feel that it has opened new horizons for you as well?
Absolutely. I do feel that. I feel that not just for actors but for writers, creators and technicians. Due to OTT platforms, you get to tell stories that were earlier difficult because of regulations not being that stern or strict. So, yeah, it has opened up opportunities for lots of people.
You have explored all mediums. How do you see your growth as an actor or a performer?
Different projects give you a chance to explore a very different side of you that you probably didn't know you had or that you could do. When I was doing television and OTT was not even there and when it was here we all could see that ok, we can do that. When the opportunity rolled and when Pocket FM came to me with this opportunity to do the narration for their stories, it was very exciting for me and because it was new, it was also challenging and intriguing for me to see whether I can do that or not.
By God's grace, I have been really fortunate that I have been able to be part of all the mediums that we have today and be a part of some amazing stories.
