Television actress Deepika Singh made her Bollywood debut with Raghubir Yadav in 'Titu Ambani. It is going to be screened as the closing film at Manikarnika International Film Festival. Written and directed by Rohit Raj Goyal, the film also stars Tushar Pandey, Pritam Jaiswal, Sapna Sand, Virendra Saxena, Samta Sagar, and Brijendra Kala.
Deepak Tijori and Mukesh Tiwari graced the inauguration of the 2nd Manikarnika Film Festival in Varanasi, which started on October 13 and ends on October 15, 2023.
Deepika said, "It's a story of Titu who wants to become rich and his inspiration is Ambani. He falls in love with Mosmi who has her own set of challenges and responsibilities. Titu is an aspiring entrepreneur who prioritises his career over the responsibilities of marital life. However, disaster strikes when his wife (Mosmi) runs away, and his business venture backfires miserably. This film talks about women's equality in terms of responsibility which is the need of the hour. It is a satirical film with lots of humour quotient."
Sharing about the importance of having such kind of film festivals, she says, "It is very important to have platforms like film festivals because they give a boost to independent filmmakers who would otherwise not be able to release their films in theatres. These festivals allow independent films to reach actual cinemagoers and celebrate cinema."
Last year, actor Sanjay Mishra inaugurated the film festival. This year 37 short films and 18 feature films across the country and world have been screened extensively in the 3 days of the festival. The opening film was 'Walk' starring Rahul Roy and Archana Puran Singh.
