Raveena Tandon was one of the successful actresses of the 90s. She delivered several hits in her career and also lost a few films due to politics in the industry. In an interview, Raveena revealed how she was replaced in David Dhawan's 1996 hit film 'Saajan Chale Sasural' by Karisma Kapoor due to groupism in the industry. The movie also starred Govinda opposite Karisma.
For the unversed, 'Saajan Chale Sasural' was a blockbuster and was the second-highest-grossing film of that year.
Raveena in an interview with the YouTube channel Lehren Retro, said, “I have always believed in healthy competition because that brings out the best in you. But I am not a cutthroat person, nobody can say Raveena got me removed from a project or Raveena refused to work with a newcomer. I have never done that kind of politics and groupism but others have blatantly done politics against me. I was supposed to do Saajan Chale Sasural with David Dhawan and Govinda and they told me this later. I had even signed Vijaypath, I lost the film.”
Raveena and Karisma had a feud. They worked together in Rajkumar Santoshi’s film 'Andaz Apna Apna'. Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, while talking about her relationship with Karisma, Tandon said, “See, you can’t get along with everyone, right? And today, I am glad to say that Karisma and I were children. Maybe, we went through our slight complexes at that time but today, our children are friends and today, socially also we hang out together. So, I think people grow up.”
On the work front, Raveena will be seen in 'Ghudchadi' with Sanjay Dutt. She also has 'Welcome 3' with Akshay Kumar.
