Iconic Hollywood actor Robert De Niro has become a father for the seventh time at the age of 79, as reported by ET Canada. It is said that during an interview, the actor talked about parenthood while promoting his upcoming film, 'About My Father'.

He mentioned how he doesn't like having to discipline his children, but sometimes it's necessary."There's no way around it with kids. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can't," he explained.

When asked about his six children, it was then that he corrected the interviewer, and revealed that he actually has seven children. "I just had a baby," he said, without sharing any details about the new addition to his family. He also did not disclose the details of the child’s mother, but it cannot go unmissed that his current girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, revealed her baby bump on their dinner outing last month.

Meanwhile, De Niro's representative too confirmed the news of his seventh child.

The Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning actor is already a father to six children. While he shared Drena, 51, and son Raphael, 46, with his first wife, Diahnne Abbott, he welcomed twin sons Julian and Aaron, 27, with his former girlfriend, model, and actress Toukie Smith, in 1995. Apart from them, he also has a son Elliot, 24, and a daughter Helen Grace, 11, with his ex-wife, Grace Hightower.

‘The Irishman' star is widely known across the globe for his performances in 'The Godfather: Part II,' 'Raging Bull,' and 'Taxi Driver,' among others. He has been honoured with two Academy Awards and has been nominated for seven others.

His upcoming project, 'About My Father, is set to hit theatres later this year.
