Actor Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan Sharma and her husband Aayush Sharma hosted a lavish birthday party for the actor’s 57th birthday in Mumbai on Tuesday. Several photos and videos from the start-studded bash have made their way to social media. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Salman’s camaraderie at the birthday, what has caught everyone’s attention is Salman’s sweet moment with former actor Sangeeta Bijlani, who once dated the actor.
For those caught unaware, Salman and Sangeeta were on the verge of getting married in the 90s and their wedding cards were even printed. However, the two parted ways amicably, and the two have been good friends for so many years.
In the video and photos from the birthday bash, Salman is seen planting a sweet kiss on Sangeeta's forehead after they both shared a hug and posed for the photographers who were stationed outside the party venue. He even waited for her to exit in her car.
Reacting to this sweet gesture, one of Salman’s fans wrote, "Bhai ka pahela pyar (Salman's first love)." "Love can lead you back," wrote another. A social media user commented, "Salman should have married her in the first place and life would have been so smooth."
Salman and Sangeeta, who met on the sets of a TV advertisement during their initial years in Bollywood, dated for almost a decade, and their relationship is one of his longest relationships.
Talking about his past relationship, Salman had said on ‘Koffee With Karan’, "There was a time that I really wanted to get married and then it just didn't work out. I have always come so close. People have got cold feet .'Theek hai, boyfriend, isko zindagi bhar jhelna padega kya (They think I am a good boyfriend but it's difficult to tolerate me for the rest of their lives).' With Sangeeta, even the cards and all were printed." Reacting to rumours of him cheating on Sangeeta, Salman had said, "Yeah, kind of. I got caught. I'm stupid.”
Sangeeta later married former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin.
Also seen at the birthday bash were Pooja Hegde, Kartik Aaryan, Suniel Shetty, Tabu, Suniel Shetty, Sonakshi Sinha and others.
