Ahead of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt performed pind daan at Vishnupad Temple in Gaya, Bihar. For those unversed, pind daan is a ritual in Hinduism, in which you pay homage to the deceased and pray for their souls to be in peace. It's performed by the deceased's relatives at three Holy sites in Gaya: the Phalgu River, Vishnupad Temple, and Akshay Vat tree, and can be completed in a day's time.
The 64-year-old actor prayed for his departed parents, union minister-actor Sunil Dutt and actress Nargis. He wore a white dhoti and kurta and had his security personnel alongside at all times for safety measures.
Before leaving the temple, he met and interacted with some fans, who were sincerely waiting for him. The actor also answered many questions that journalists threw his way. To one of the questions, he expressed his delight about the inauguration of the Ram Mandir taking place on January 22.
“Bohot achchi baat hai, bohot achchi baat hai (it’s great, it’s great),” he remarked when he was asked about the temple. He then went on to chant 'Jai Bhole' and 'Jai Shree Ram,' which led to many cheers. Earlier, at the airport, when asked by journalists if he would like to pay a visit to the Ayodhya temple and offer his prayers, he said, “Definitely. Why not?"
Meanwhile, work-wise, the actor will be next seen in the horror-comedy 'The Virgin Tree,' alongside Sunny Singh, Mouni Roy, and Palak Tiwari.
