Karan Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment is set to release its first project of 2024, with the Sara Ali Khan-starrer highly-anticipated period drama 'Ae Watan Mere Watan.'
The film, which is Sara's first biopic, is inspired by the real-life events of Usha Mehta, a young woman, who has a huge role to play in India's fight for independence. Sara Ali Khan takes up the role of the freedom fighter, who is known for her contributions in building up the Congress Radio, which was an underground radio station, that became a crucial part of communication during the Quit India Movement. Set in 1942, the movie aims to serve as a shaking, shocking, moving story about patriotism and courage.
Now, according to numerous reports, the film's much-awaited trailer will be out on March 8, and the date is said to have been purpotedly kept on the occasion of International Women's Day. And as per those reports as well as IMDb, the release date of the film has been locked for March 22 on Amazon Prime Video. However, an official announcement regarding the confirmation of these dates is highly-awaited.
Other than Khan, the film will also feature Sparsh Srivastava, Anand Tiwari, Benedict Garrett, Alexx O’Nell, and Abhay Verma in pivotal roles, directed by Kannan Iyer and penned by Darab Farooqui.
Meanwhile, 2024 will be a busy year for the 'Kedarnath' actress as she has four films in the pipeline. Besides the period drama, she will also be seen in Anurag Basu’s 'Metro... In Dino,' Akshay Kumar’s 'Sky Force,' and Homi Adjania’s 'Murder Mubarak.'
