Sara Khan, who debuted with Rajan Shahi’s popular show ‘Bidaai’, has come a long way, she was part of many popular shows like ‘Woh Apna Sa’, ‘Spy Bahu’, ‘Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’ and ‘Bhagyalaxmi’. Additionally, Sara Khan’s participation in Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Lock Upp’ was very impressive. One of the many things that is commendable about her is that her wonderful physique and looks have remained consistent throughout the years. As we all know, the acting profession is very demanding. The pressure to look good, healthy, and always remain fit is something every actor has to go through.
Sharing her thoughts on that, Sara Khan says, “The acting profession is very demanding, you always have to look good and maintain yourself. And because of social media, the pressure is more than before. Nowadays, on social media, everyone strives to look good because as we all know, ‘Jo dikhta hai woh bikta hai’. And whether it’s the acting industry or any other industry when you look good, your confidence level increases significantly, and you confidently progress in every task. So, this is not just for showbiz, but for everyone.”
Sara Khan who has always been on the leaner side shares her fitness mantra. “Basically, I make sure that I have a good number of vegetables and fruits so I can fulfil all the nutrition that is needed organically. I don’t believe in supplements much because honestly, nothing is better than what you can give your body naturally. I make sure that I am keeping myself healthy organically. I make sure that I am aware of what I am eating and at what time I am eating because in the end, you eat to survive and you eat to keep your body fit and fine, so you have to always be meticulous about it.”
With regard to physical fitness, mental fitness is also important. And Sara Khan feels what affects her the most are the judgemental comments of people who aren’t even important to you, those who don’t exist anywhere in your life. She says, “When the faceless people on social media say something, I try to avoid it. In fact, I just block them, and I’ve kept my circle very small. As I believe in quality more than quantity. So if your close ones are there and they are trying to keep you mentally fit, to boost your confidence level and to make you feel good, that is the only thing that is important. I have my family with me, I’m very blessed and along with that I have a very small circle around me, who always have a positive mindset, they guide me in the right direction, and help me grow.”
On asking further about how tough it is to maintain a fitness regime, Sara Khan says, “I feel sleep is the most important aspect of a good fitness regime. I remember earlier when I was shooting for long hours, I used to be sleep-deprived and for obvious reasons, I was compromising my fitness regime. You have to always remember that you need to give yourself proper sleep. Sleep is vital; a good night’s sleep makes the day better. You need to give your body adequate rest to remain fit. These are the things I prioritize to stay healthy and focused.”
