Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was overjoyed as his team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), clinched the IPL 2024 championship by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The match, held in Chennai, witnessed Khan joining his team’s players on the ground to revel in their victory. This moment of triumph came shortly after the superstar’s discharge from a hospital in Ahmedabad due to heat stroke and dehydration.
After capturing moments with KKR captain Shreyas Iyer and fellow teammates, the ‘Pathaan’ actor seemingly revisited a cherished memory by recreating a photo taken a decade ago with his wife, Gauri Khan, when KKR last clinched the IPL title in 2014. A fan club noted the parallel and highlighted how, just like ten years ago, Shah Rukh and Gauri posed together with the IPL winner’s cup.
Gauri shared the nostalgic moment on her Instagram account, captioning it, “Winners.”
Fans took to X to share the couple’s then and now photos with trophies. A netizen made the comparison, and wrote, “In today’s world, where it’s so easy to fall apart, be someone’s constant! The King & Queen have shown us this throughout their entire journey. Truly giving us all relationship goals!”
SRK openly expressed his affection for his wife during the KKR vs SRH match. As soon as the match concluded with KKR emerging victorious, he embraced her and tenderly kissed her forehead. The couple, evidently moved by the winning moment, celebrated with all three of their children present there. A video capturing their heartfelt celebration quickly spread across social media.
In addition to expressing his love for Gauri, the actor seemed deeply moved when his daughter-actress Suhana Khan, embraced him. Both father and daughter appeared emotional, with the ‘Archies’ star asking her dad if he was happy and expressing her own joy at the win. Alongside, the actor’s sons, Aryan and AbRam were also visibly enthusiastic, and celebrating the victory with great spirits.
After the victory, the actor was observed warmly greeting each member of the KKR team and their families, the coaches, the mentors, including Gautam Gambhir, acknowledging their contributions to the win.
