Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Jawan' is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Directed by Atlee, it is all set to hit the screens this September. The prevue was out last month and it has created excitement among fans. They can't wait to watch the movie on the big screen. The posters and a song have already been released from the movie and now it has been reported that a few clips from 'Jawan' have been stolen and leaked now and shared on Twitter. Following this, Red Chillies Entertainment has filed a police complaint.
As per a report in Indian Express, on Thursday, Pradeep Nimani, Chief Financial Officer of Red Chillies Entertainment, filed an FIR with the Santacruz police station.
As per the FIR, the production house has recently discovered that 'Jawan's video clips were leaked online by some Twitter handles. The FIR also stated that the film is yet to release in theatres. During the shooting of the film, people present at the spot were not allowed to use mobile phones so that no shooting videos are leaked.
Despite such restrictions, someone allegedly stole the film’s videos and, without the company’s permission, uploaded them on social media, stated Pradeep in the FIR. Five Twitter handles are named in the FIR and also details of the people who use these handles are also shared.
Red Chillies had approached the Delhi High Court and filed a commercial suit over the leak of the film’s videos, and managed to secure the court’s direction to Twitter to pull down the leaked videos. The complainant also claimed that besides causing damage to the film, the accused person has also violated the copyright act.
A case has been filed by the police under sections 379 of the Indian Penal Code and 43b of the Information Technology Act and they are now investigating the matter.
'Jawan' is releasing in theatres on September 7, 2023, and it also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani among others.
