Actor Sheezan Khan was finally granted bail, 70 days after his arrest. He was charged for abetment to suicide in the Tunisha Sharma case. The late actress, who was

Sheezan’s ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul’ co-star, was found dead on December 24, 2022 last year. Following her death, Tunisha’s mother had made several accusations at Sheezan, who was reportedly in a relationship with Tunisha. The actress’ mother accused Sheezan of infidelity and physical abuse.

Now finally, as Sheezan was released on a surety of Rs 1 lakh and conditions of the bail, he expressed his relief. He told Bombay Times that he now understands the ‘true meaning’ of freedom, adding how he was in tears after seeing his mother and sister.

Talking about Tunisha, Sheezan said, “I miss her and if she was alive, she would have fought for me.” His sister Falaq Naaz too added that the family is still processing everything and expressed gratitude towards everyone who stood by Sheezan and the family. However, Tunisha Sharma’s uncle Pawan Sharma, after his bail, said that they won’t ‘back down’ from their fight until Sheezan is punished.

Sheezan and Tunisha were in a relationship but had broken off just a couple of weeks before the latter's death, ostensibly caused as she was in a deeply disturbed state of mind. Later, Tunisha's mother Vanita Sharma and her uncle Pawan Sharma had alleged that Khan and his family were pressurising her to adopt Islamic practices, plus other contentions that drove her to end her life, and demanded their arrest on charges of abetment to suicide.
