'Kasautii Zindagi Kay' fame TV actress Shweta Tiwari has been roped in to star in Rohit Shetty's OTT debut directorial 'Indian Police Force,' alongside Shilpa Shetty, Sidharth Malhotra, and Vivek Oberoi. On Friday, she spilled the beans on how she got her part in the web series, and her experience of working with film stars.
Opening up about how she bagged the role, excited, she said, “First of all, it was an honour to be part of Rohit Shetty's cop universe. When I first received the call from the office, I said yes instantly. When they asked if I wanted to hear the part, I just said no."
She also revealed that she was terrified of the 'Singham' director when she was a participant in 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 12,' which the director hosted. “I first met him during KKK, and I used to be very scared of him. I am still scared of him. The best part about him is how he makes everyone feel comfortable.”
Many times, TV actors speak out against the discrimination they face on film sets. However, that didn't happen to Shweta on 'Indian Police Force' sets. As per her, everyone treated each other with utmost respect and dignity. She said that she never felt out of place on Rohit Shetty's set just because she doesn't have a Bollywood background. “When you meet filmy people, sometimes they make you feel you are small or you are from TV. But on this set, everyone had the same respect, the same value. It was amazing.”
“Also working with these legends out here.. People often say they don’t need to rehearse, and here they were rehearsing their lines. And on top of that, the team…they were so good. When they would set the scene with Rohit sir, I would wonder if we can match up to them. The way they delivered their dialogues. It was really an honour to be part of this cop world,” she concluded.
'Indian Police Force' is an action-fuelled cop drama series, which sheds light on the services and patriotism depicted by Indian police officers. It is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video from January 19.
