Actor Sonam Bajwa recently opened up about working with Shehnaaz Gill in 'Honsla Rakh'. Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, the 2021 film starred Sonam Bajwa and Shehnaaz with Diljit Dosanjh who was also the producer of the movie.
During a conversation with RJ Siddharth Kanan, Sonam was asked if she faced any competition, while working with Shehnaaz. The actor shared, “I don't think so. I got the narration for the entire script. I read it and unfortunately, we didn't have scenes together. We were together in a song and we had a lot of fun. There was no competition… honestly, because I was just so secure by what I was going to do on screen. I already knew my part. So there was no competition like that.”
She added, “But, I will be very honest when I was doing a song with her, she is so good as a dancer, I was like 'Wow'. We were teaching each other steps. It made me feel like ‘Oh my God. Abhi mujhe nahi bhulna hai. Mujhe bhi karna hai ache se (I have to perform well).’ Shehnaaz was like 'Are mai toh abhi ayi hu. Mujhe kuch aa nahi raha hai, mujhe bhi sikhna hai (Even I have to learn),” she added. Sonam further said in Hindi, “When someone, even your co-star, started performing well, you also feel like doing the same. So, it made me feel more responsible. She is so good at what she is doing.”
Sonam Bajwa will be next seen in Carry on Jatta 3, with Gippy Grewal. It will release on 29th June. Shehnaaz recently made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
Honsla Rakh is set in Canada and revolves around the story of a divorced father (Diljit Dosanjh), who raised his son on his own. In the film, Shehnaaz Gill plays Diljit's ex-wife while Sonam appears as his new love whom he wants to marry.
