Rajinikanth’s upcoming action entertainer, ‘Coolie,’ has generated heightened anticipation around it. Ever since the film’s announcement, fans have been awaiting more updates regarding it. Now, recent reports have surfaced, which state that Sathyaraj is on board this project, being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Sathyaraj, who shared the screen with Rajinikanth in several films during the 1980s, had not collaborated with the ‘Superstar’ actor for almost four decades. However, it now appears that they will be sharing the screen space.
If reports are to be believed, the ‘Chennai Express’ star will portray the role of Rajinikanth’s friend in the forthcoming movie. For those unfamiliar, the last time the duo appeared together was in the 1987 drama film ‘Manathil Urudhi Vendum,’ directed by the legendary filmmaker K. Balachander.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the reunion of both stars on-screen after 38 years, anticipating a powerful collaboration. The combination of their talent, coupled with the grandeur of the movie, promises to be a visually delightful experience for audiences.
As for ‘Coolie,’ as per initial reports, it will not be connected to the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) but will instead stand alone. The film is anticipated to be the one of the largest action thriller projects ever made, and will showcase Rajinikanth in a never-seen-before avatar.
Additionally, speculation is rife that Shruti Haasan will be part of the film, possibly portraying the role of Rajinikanth’s daughter. Other than her, Vijay Sethupathi and Mohan are also rumoured to be joining the cast for pivotal roles. However, no official confirmation has been made by either the filmmakers or the actors themselves.
The project is backed by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures, with renowned composer Anirudh Ravichander handling the musical compositions. The rest of the crew is yet to be revealed too. The shooting for ‘Coolie’ is expected to kick off soon, right after Rajinikanth finishes his final schedule for ‘Vettaiyan.’
