SS Rajamouli To Present Biopic On Father Of Indian Cinema Titled 'Made In India': Our Boys Are Ready

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s upcoming presentation ‘Made in India’ will be directed by ‘Jawaani Jaaneman ‘fame Nitin Kakkar.

After the humongous success of films like ‘Baahbuali’ 1 & 2 and ‘RRR’, filmmaker SS Rajamouli is now all set to present another epic film. The filmmaker on Tuesday shared the teaser of the film, which is titled ‘Made In India’. It is beleived that the film will naraate the story of ‘the birth and rise’ of Indian cinema. ‘Made In India’ will be directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya, along with Varun Gupta.

The announcement teaser of the film, which is touted to be actually the biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke, was released with the caption, “Indian cinema has witnessed many biopics. This is the biopic of Indian cinema. SS Rajamouli presents to you, Made in India.”

SS Rajamouli too revaled how the film’s story left him ’emotional’. He wrote on X, “When I first heard the narration, it moved me emotionally like nothing else. Making a biopic is tough in itself, but conceiving one about the FATHER OF INDIAN CINEMA is even more challenging. Our boys are ready and up for it..:) With immense pride, Presenting MADE IN INDIA…”

No details of the cast of the film have been shared. Coming to its director Nitin Kakkar, he has previously worked on films like Filmistaan (2012), Mitron (2018), Notebook (2019), Jawaani Jaaneman (2020), and Ram Singh Charlie (2020). ‘Made In India’ is also the maiden production venture of SS Karthikeya, who was credited as Line Producer for ‘RRR’.

Coming to Dadasaheb Phalke, he is called the ‘Father of Indian Cinema’. He made the first-ever full-length Indian feature film titled Raja Harishchandra in 1913 apart from making 27 short films, and over 90 full-length movies in career which spanned nearly two decades.

Karthikeya too wrote on X, “It’s been years since I wanted to fulfill my dream of becoming a producer. The moment has come. MADE IN INDIA… With utmost responsibility, taking this up as a challenge. Cheers to my producing partner, @VarunG0707, and the director @nitinrkakkar.”

Meanwhile, for SS Rajamouli, he was on cloud nine on the success of ‘RRR’, which won big at the recently held 95th Academy Awards. It took the trophy for the Best Original Song Oscar for “Naatu Naatu”. In fact, the track also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. ‘RRR’ is certainly one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema.
