Who doesn’t know Sunil Grover’s sense of comedy and his precision in landing the perfect joke? He has been doing that consistently over the past decade and a half now. He has recently come up with another project ‘United Kacche’, which has been garnering good word-of-mouth publicity.
‘United Kacche’ was released on Zee5 recently. Sunil Grover speaks to Prateek Sur about the show, working with stalwarts from the film industry, and lots more. Excerpts from the candid chat:
How was it sharing screen space with eminent actors like Satish Shah, Manu Rishi Chaddha, Sapna Pabbi, Nikhil Vijay, Nayani Dixit, Nilu Kohli and others? Any traits you would like to adopt from them or memorable incidents you would like to highlight?
It was lovely to share screen space with a seasoned actor like Satish sir. We have been enjoying watching his performances since childhood. In fact, I would say that about everyone else. The cast is wonderful and extremely hardworking. I enjoyed working with each one of them.
The character sketches of ‘United Kacche’ uphold the idea of secularism. Do such series encourage the notion of nationalistic storytelling?
Yes.
What are your key takeaways from ‘United Kacche’?
It is very difficult to lead an illegal migrant life. Wherever you are, live a normal legal life. It is way easier. Wherever you are, have fun and stay positive.
