After much wait, finally 'Gadar 2' trailer was unveiled on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas on July 26. Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, director Anil Sharma, Gaurav Chopra, Alka Yagnik and Aditya Narayan among others were present at the trailer launch of the most anticipated movie of the year. Sunny and Ameesha were in the get-up of Tara Singh and Sakina. At the event, Sunny spoke about India and Pakistan and said that citizens of both countries want love and peace for each other but political game gives rise to 'hatred'.
Sunny, who is a BJP MP from Gurdaspur said, “It is all about humanity. There shouldn’t be any fights. There is equal love on both sides. It is the political game that gives birth to hatred. You will see the same in this film as well. Janta nahi chahti ki hum ek dusre ke saath jhagde ya lade, aakhir hai toh sab isi mitti se (people don’t want us to fight with each other, because after all we are from the same land)".
At the event, Deol also said that he is highly grateful to the fans for their "unwavering support for Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", and he assured that 'Gadar 2' will deliver "double the action, emotions, and entertainment.”
'Gadar 2' is the sequel to 2001, 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' which is a cross-border action romance of Tara Singh who is a Sikh, falls in love with a Pakistani Muslim girl, Sakina. In the sequel, Sunny and Ameesha have reprised their roles. The movie also stars Anil Sharma's son Utkarsh Sharma. 'Gadar 2' is all set to hit the screens on August 11 clashing with Akshay Kumar starrer 'OMG 2'.
