‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ actress Suzanne Bernert features in Arshad Warsi-Barun Sobti’s thriller series ‘Asur 2’. Talking about working on the show, she reveals how she missed many special events to be on shoots for the series, and how she gives importance to her professionalism more than anything else.
Suzanne Bernert says, “I was shooting for the series just after the pandemic. It was the beginning of 2021, after the first lockdown. My role in the series was clearly a cameo but a very significant role and was in English. I haven't had the chance before to essay such an interesting role as before I only played in Hindi or other Indian languages. Then the second wave came, and again, everything halted. The production house tried shooting with me nearly every month from August 2021 to the actual shoot day in January 2022. Also, the script changed and it became a one-day shoot. I never back out of a project as once committed. Thats it then!”
She continues to share her shooting experience and adds, “OTT is more like shooting a movie, no day to day telecast stress. The shoot of Asur was very professional, and I enjoyed it a lot. On set, they liked my original accent, but last year in summer suddenly an American Accent was required and for the same my good friend and actress, Sabreen Baker whom I have worked with in ‘State Of Siege 26/11’ dubbed me expertly. The release of the series, as we all know, was way later than expected. But the show is receiving a very good response. I am looking forward to watching Season 3 too.”
Suzanne Bernert also reveals about missing celebrating special events during that time with her family.
“I remember that time was special to me. I missed my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary and my mom's special birthday. But that's life when you are professionally committed,” she says.
Suzanne Bernert is popularly remembered for playing Queen Helena in the historical TV drama ‘Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat’. She also enjoyed popularity after essaying Sonia Gandhi a couple of times on different screens. She has earlier acted in many shows like ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’, ‘Sanskaar Laxmi’, ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ among others.
For the unversed, Suzanne Bernert shifted to India from Germany and holds an Overseas Citizenship of India card following her marriage to renowned actor Akhil Mishra.
