Standup comedian Munawar Faruqui has reportedly tied the knot for the second time. A recent report has revealed that the ‘Bigg Boss 17’ winner got married for the second time earlier this month.
According to a report by Times Now, Munawar Faruqui has married makeup artist Mehzabeen Coatwala. The report revealed that their nikah ceremony was an intimate affair that was only attended by their friends and family. Quoting a source the report said, “Yes, Munawar is now married. Usne shaadi kar li hai. Woh yeh sab under wraps rakhna chahta hai tab hi koi khass pictures bhi nahi milega aapko (He got married. He wants to keep it under wraps; hence, you would not find any pictures of the two).”
The source continued, “Only the couple's near and dear ones were present for the ceremony. It was an extremely close-knit function.” Speculations about Faruqui’s marriage started floating on social media when actor Hina Khan shared a selfie with the song – ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’ – in the background. The two had collaborated earlier on a music video. Additionally, a social media page had also shared details about their wedding.
The comedian hosted a wedding reception at ITC Grand Maratha, Mumbai on Sunday. The Indian Express also reported on his marriage. The portal reached out to a close family member who confirmed the news. The news of his first marriage surfaced in the news when the topic was brought up on Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Lock Upp.’ Addressing the matter on the reality show, he said, “I don't want to talk about this. Not on social media, not on a platform like ‘Lock Upp’. This is not something I want to talk about... I am not hiding anything, but we have been separated for the past one and a half years. Court ki cheezein ho rahi hain (The matter is in the court) and I do not want to discuss that. It has been difficult.”
Faruqui was last seen in ‘Bigg Boss 17’ where he made news about his relationship with Ayesha Khan and Nazila Sitaishi.
