Triptii Dimri’s latest theatrical release ‘Animal’ has made everyone talk about her. And why not? The Ranbir Kapoor-led film has been breaking box office records ever since it hit the big screens last Friday on December 1.
Talking about the film’s unstoppable box office numbers, Triptii told Indian Express, “The first day there wasn’t much that was said about me so I was like, ‘Ok, that happens. I did my best but at least people are liking the film.’ But slowly the tide changed, people started talking and now it hasn’t stopped!”
Not to miss, her Instagram followers now stand at around 2 million, and that wasn’t before ‘Animal’ was released. Adding how her fans, friends and family are keeping a track of her rapidly increasing Instagram numbers, the actress further talked about how she feels after being referred to as ‘new national crush’ and ‘Bhabhi 2’, a label that Ranbir’s cousins in the film also give her.
“It does flatter me. Numbers are also a validation; it is a very visible form of love and I am grateful for that. But as an actor, I don’t want to get caught up in that. I know that people are also calling me that and honestly it just feels very, very overwhelming,” Triptii said.
The Sandeep Reddy Vanga film is the actress’s first theatrical release since her 2018 film ‘Laila Majnu’. She followed it up with two Netflix outings, ‘Bulbbul’ and ‘Qala’, and now with ‘Animal’, the actress has catapulted into a league of solid performers.
“This was my theatrical film after so long. I had forgotten how it feels to look at yourself on the big screen. Animal reminded me of that. Of course, a big theatrical film comes with its own impact, it reaches a different, perhaps wider audience. So many people who discovered me in Animal have now gone back and watched Bulbbull and Qala. That’s precisely the dream of an actor, that their work should be discovered by newer audiences,” she adds.
‘Animal’ also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, and Suresh Oberoi, among others. It is a story about the complex relationship of a business magnate Balbir Singh (Anil) and his son (Ranbir). After tragedy befalls Balbir, Arjun sets out to exact vengeance against his rival (Bobby) and pledges to never leave his family, leading to a gruesome gang war.
