RRR director SS Rajamouli recently took to Twitter to share a clip of a “Naatu Naatu” tribute by over 150 Tesla owners. In the video, the cars are seen parked in lines to form the movie’s title, RRR. Soon after that, the Oscar-winning track begins playing and the cars’ blinkers and headlights switch on and off and sparkle to the beats of the track.
Towards the end, the maker of the video extends his thanks to the Tesla owners for the collaboration and wrote, “A Tesla tribute to Naatu Naatu was merely an idea of mine, but this would not have been possible without friends and the participation of 150 Tesla owners, despite the short notice and cold weather to create a unique and unforgettable experience."
SS Rajamouli retweeted the clip and captioned it, “Truly overwhelmed by this tribute to #NaatuNaatu from New Jersey ! Thank you @vkkoppu garu, #NASAA, @peoplemediafcy and everyone associated with this incredible and ingenious @Tesla Light Show…:) It was a stunning show. #RRRMovie @elonmusk.”
Fans were happy to see the video and congratulated the makers of the film. One user simply wrote, “Congratulations,” as another mentioned, “Congratulations Sir.🙏🏾You & the entire team deserve all the success, love and appreciation for making India proud.”
“Naatu Naatu” became the first song from an Indian film to win an Oscar in the Best Original Song category, beating artistes such as Lady Gaga and Rihanna. The song was composed by MM Keeravaani
