- The addition of the safety aid comes at a premium of Rs 14,000.
- Both motorcycles continue to be powered by the same 249cc single-cylinder engine.
- No changes in mechanicals.
Apart from taking the wraps off the new FZ and FZ-S Fi Version 3.0 in Bangalore, Yamaha India has also launched the ABS versions of it 250cc offerings, the FZ25 and the Fazer 25. Both motorcycles now get double-channel ABS and both has received a price hike of Rs 14,000 each. The motorcycles were due to receive this update with the April 1 deadline looming just ahead of us. This leaves only the SZ RR Version 2.0 in Yamaha India’s current lineup without any form of ABS yet, and with its dwindling sales, it could perhaps face the axe soon.
The FZ25 as well as the Fazer 25 continue to be powered by the same 249cc single-cylinder air-/oil-cooled motor which makes 20.9PS and 20Nm. Both bikes get the same 5-speed gearbox which continues to bring the best out of the engine’s meaty mid-range.
There are no changes to the mechanical bits of the motorcycles, with the same diamond frame being sprung by telescopic forks and a monoshock. Both motorcycles receive new colours though. The FZ25 gets three new colours: dark matte blue, matte black and cyan blue. The Fazer 25 gets dark matte blue and metallic black colour options with the old red colour now discontinued. The non-ABS models will continue to sell until stocks run dry.
