- The Maruti Suzuki XL6 will go on sale on 21 August 2019.
- Gets an updated front fascia along with an all-black interior compared to the Ertiga.
- It will be available with a 1.5-litre BS6 petrol engine. Diesel unlikely to be on offer.
- It will be sold through Nexa dealerships; likely to be priced at a premium over the Ertiga.
Maruti Suzuki has teased the XL6 with a sketch. Now the carmaker has dropped a few images on its website, revealing some more details about the upcoming premium MPV based on the Ertiga.
As confirmed from the spy shots earlier, the XL6 gets a new trapezoidal front grille. It is divided in half by a chrome bar that seamlessly flows into new multi-reflector LED headlamps with LED DRLs.
Other images reveal the interior of the XL6. While the cabin layout looks similar to the standard Ertiga, it gets an all-black treatment (instead of beige) and also the light brown wooden insert has been replaced by a darker trim with a silver insert.
Other additions include black leatherette upholstery and the second row captain seats. It also gets a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto like the WagonR and Baleno instead of the SmartPlay unit seen on the standard Ertiga.

Under the hood, the XL6 is expected to be available with the 1.5-litre BS6 petrol engine which was introduced with the second-gen Ertiga. It makes 95PS of power and 138Nm of peak torque. This engine will be offered with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Maruti is not expected to offer the 1.5-litre diesel engine available on the Ertiga with the XL6 since the carmaker plans to discontinue all diesel models by April 2020.
The XL6 is scheduled to go on sale on 21 August 2019. It is likely to be priced at a premium over the standard Ertiga petrol (Rs 7.55 lakh to Rs 10.05 lakh, ex-showroom pan-India). Once launched, it will take on the 7-seater Mahindra Marazzo.
