The updated Ignis will feature Maruti’s new SmartPlay Studio infotainment system.
Features like rear parking sensors and speed alert system will be on offer as standard.
The updated Ignis will continue to be available with a petrol engine only, but with both AMT and manual transmission.
Maruti Suzuki is working on an update for its Nexa offering, the Ignis. The updated version will be launched in February 2019. In fact, Nexa dealers are already accepting bookings for the updated Ignis. There won’t be any cosmetic revisions, but updates that will rather focus on making the Ignis compliant with upcoming safety norms.
This means, the updated Ignis will come with rear parking sensors and a speed alert system as standard across the range. Maruti will also be add the latest version of its SmartPlay infotainment system, also seen on the 2019 WagonR and Baleno facelift, to the mix.
The Ignis has been on sale for more than two years now. It was previously available with a diesel engine as well, but Maruti Suzuki discontinued the diesel version in June 2018. Now, it is available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine only, which can be had with both AMT and manual transmission options.
Prices of the Ignis start from Rs 4.67 lakh and go up to Rs 7.05 lakh (ex-showroom India). We don’t expect any major change in the prices with the update.
