  • BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS available with cash discounts of up to Rs 25,000
  • Both motorcycles are being sold with free insurance
  • Discounts valid till December 31, 2018

BMW Motorrad is offering heavy year-end discounts on the G 310 R and G 310 GS motorcycles in India. The discounts are in the form of free insurance, a reduced rate of finance and cash discounts. These offers can be availed at all BMW Motorrad dealerships across India till December 31, 2018. The ex-showroom prices of both motorcycles continue to remain the same. While the G 310 R is priced at Rs 2.99 lakh, the G 310 GS costs Rs 3.49 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom India).

We called up BMW Motorrad dealers in Mumbai, Kochi, Delhi, Pune and Bengaluru and received confirmation that the discounts are indeed being offered on the twins. However, while complimentary insurance and a lowered rate of finance are being offered by all dealers, a few are also offering a cash discount of Rs 25,000. The discount is applicable for customers who choose to pay in full instead of opting for finance. The complimentary insurance includes one year of comprehensive coverage and five years of third-party liability coverage. Customers who opt for finance can also benefit from a lower effective interest rate of only 3.1 per cent. Prior to this offer, the effective rate of interest offered by BMW Financial Services was 8.1 per cent. Note that these offers can only be availed till 31 December, 2018.

The discounts come in the backdrop of sub-par sales for the G 310 R and the G 310 GS in India. Both models were priced on the higher side for sub-500cc motorcycles. With these discounts, BMW hopes to boost the sales of both the bikes.

To recall, the G 310 R is a naked street bike while the G 310 GS is more of an adventure-tourer. While both bikes get the same engine, chassis and braking setup, the G 310 GS comes with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with trail-biased Metzeler Tourance tyres. On the other hand, the G 310 R has 17-inch wheels at both ends that are shod with road-biased Michelin tyres.
