After the recent launch of the Himalayan FI ABS and Classic 500 ABS, Royal Enfield has updated the most popular motorcycle in its portfolio, the Classic 350, with rear disc as standard. Initially available only on the Gunmetal Grey and Redditch variants, the rear disc is now standard on all the other colour variants of the Classic 350. This includes Ash, Chestnut, Silver and Black. However, apart from the Classic 350 Signals edition, no other variant in the Classic 350 range gets ABS yet. However, the same is expected to follow suit before the April 2019 mandate.

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 with rear disc costs Rs 1.47 lakh ex-showroom Pune. The on-road price in the same city stands at Rs 1.75 lakh. Certain dealers also offer 1 year complimentary Road Side Assistance (RSA). The availability of the motorcycle varies from dealer to dealer as they are currently clearing out the stocks of the rear drum variants. Booking amount is Rs 5,000 and delivery will be done in 3-4 days after the full payment is done. However, delivery time may vary amongst dealerships.

Apart from the addition of rear disc, the motorcycle has remained unchanged mechanically. The 346cc single cylinder thumper is good for 20PS at 5250rpm and 28Nm at 4000rpm, and is paired with a 5-speed transmission. Suspension responsibilities are handled by 35mm telescopic front forks and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear.

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 with rear disc rivals the UM Renegade Sports S (Rs 1,66,064) and Bajaj Dominar (Rs 1,48,043 for the non-ABS variant).
